How HomesFound researches, writes and fixes its guides and market coverage.

Who publishes this site

HomesFound.ca is an Ontario real estate search and information service run by licensed Ontario real estate professionals. Our guides and market coverage are written by the HomesFound team and checked against how Ontario transactions actually work. Every article shows its publisher and publication date.

What we publish

Plain-English, step-by-step guides for Ontario buyers, sellers and first-time buyers, and coverage of the GTA and Ontario housing market. The guides are educational — they explain the rules, the costs and the process. They are not advice for your specific transaction; for that, speak with your own real estate professional, lawyer or lender.

Our sources

Listing and market data comes from the MLS® feed published through the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (PropTx). Program rules, taxes and rebates are checked against the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), the Canada Revenue Agency, the Bank of Canada and Ontario and municipal government pages. We do not invent statistics: when a guide works through numbers, it either cites a named source or clearly labels the figures as a worked example, not a quote.

Keeping articles current

When a rule, rate or program changes, we update the affected guides. An article's date reflects when it was published; substantive updates are described in the article itself.

Corrections

If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page. Verified errors are corrected in the article as quickly as we can. Material corrections are noted at the top of the article with the date of the fix, so returning readers can see what changed.

Our commercial interest, stated plainly

HomesFound is a real estate service, and some readers later choose to buy or sell with one of our agents. The guides are written to be accurate whether or not you ever do.
